2 in 1 DIY: Banana Mask

One of my all time favorite masks can be as simple as implementing just one ingredient, a banana. Bananas are like a cure all for the skin. They're perfect to use as a facial mask because they're available year round and they're great for any skin condition! Simply mash a banana (unripened is best) and apply to the skin for 5-20 minutes.
It's ideal to exfoliate before applying a mask because it will intensify the results. After removing dead skin cells, the nutrients will penetrate a lot deeper into the skin! That's where the banana peel comes in. A peel can be used up to three times before discarding.

Honey is a great addition to this recipe. I add honey to nearly every mask that I make, it's a wonderful healing agent for skin.

If you want to kick this up a notch, you can mix in the herbs from your steeped tea. After I brew tea, I always cut the herbs from the packet, and in this case I used green tea. Green tea is full of antioxidants and studies have shown that there's a specific antioxidant that may prevent DNA damage from UV radiation. Chamomile does wonders for the skin as well!
Enjoy!!
