I'm incredibly excited to be offering a new body wrap treatment at Flows Free!
This new treatment features the use of Chinese cupping to bring circulation up to nourish the skin and clear toxins, after that, a therapeutic cream/oil will be applied to the skin, followed by a cocoon wrapping technique to encourage the body to detox. This treatment will be used as a contrast therapy, where I will be using both hot and cold principles that are used in traditional Chinese medicine. In most body treatments, they are dependent on the wrapping to bring the heat to the body, that's where this treatment is different; one of the benefits of cupping is that the cups are creating heat in the body themselves which in turn produces a more lasting result. What's happening is that the cups are going to draw blood from the arteries to the capillaries, then returning the blood via the veins to be cleansed or disposed of.
Here are some conditions that may respond favorably to this body wrap therapy:
- fibromyalgia
- tissue and joint inflammation
- sluggish colon
- stagnant lymph and edema
- poor circulation
- sciatica
The cool thing about this new treatment is that I was able to study under my mom to bring this body wrap to Flows Free. My mom and I work as a team and between the two of us, we have a variety of services to offer to St. Joseph; such as: massage (including tons of specialized therapies like hot stone, prenatal, Swedish, and deep tissue), organic facials, Reiki energy work, as well as a small retail section of local skin care products.
