I love when clients leave a facial treatment exclaiming, "This isn't what I thought it would be like!".
It made me wonder just what people's pre-conceived ideas are before entering the spa room for their facial, and that maybe it was time to debunk some common concerns.
#1 Many people are nervous that harsh, chemical peels are used during facials.
I enjoy discovering locally made lines that use organic ingredients to use during facial treatments. I frequently use fruit acids to achieve effective results while also maintaining a gentle approach.
#2 I incorporate lots of other modalities for overall well being. I am a huge fan of small, Chinese suction cups specifically designed for the face. They're a non-invasive way to gently lift, stimulate and drain the face of stagnant fluids.
Techniques like acupressure and reflexology are used to stimulate different areas of the body during your treatment.

#3 I use Reiki Energy Work in services! When I book a service for myself, from another massage therapist or Esthetician, I view the next 60 minutes as a form of meditation to hit the refresh button. I've found it useful to set an intention before I enter the massage room and since this time is 100% dedicated to myself, I'm able to just let thoughts float, and simply be. I find it interesting to discover what images/feelings/thoughts come to me during this time that could possibly pertain to the intention that I set at the beginning of the service.
- I want each client to leave my treatment room with less stress, more energy and feeling refreshed after taking time for themselves. I believe using Energy work is one way of being able to work with my clients to achieve this.
